WASHINGTON – Today, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del.) released a statement following the confirmation of David Mader to be Controller of the Office of Federal Financial Management in the Office of Management and Budget. The Senate confirmed Mr. Mader by voice vote:
“I’d like to thank my colleagues for joining me in filling this critical position. The Office of Management and Budget Controller’s job is to get better results and to save taxpayer money by continuously working to improve government management. Our nation’s fiscal challenges make it imperative that we continue to see progress on the whole range of management initiatives that the Controller oversees, which include reducing improper payments, improving financial management systems, pushing agencies to use performance metrics, and implementing the recently enacted DATA Act. Danny Werfel left big shoes to fill but I am confident David Mader has the extensive public and private sector experience to help lead this important agency. I look forward to working with him in his new role.”
