COMMITTEE APPROVES DHS MANAGEMENT NOMINEE

 

                WASHINGTON, D.C. ­– The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Wednesday approved the nomination of Rafael Borras to be Under Secretary for Management at the Department of Homeland Security.  The Committee, led by Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., reported Borras to the full Senate by a vote of 7 to 3.

                “Mr. Borras has 27 years of public and private sector management experience and has held positions with responsibilities similar to those held by the DHS Under Secretary for Management,” Lieberman said.  “I fully support his nomination and urge my colleagues to do the same when he comes before the full Senate.”

                The Committee also reported the nominations David Ferriero to be Archivist of the United States, Susan Tsui Grundmann to be Chairman of the Merit Systems Protection Board and Anne Marie Wagner to be a member of the Merit Systems Protection Board.
