Washington, DC — Senate Governmental Affairs Chairman Fred Thompson (R-TN) has announced a hearing on the nomination of Jacob (Jack) J. Lew to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget. The hearing will be held at 2 p.m. on June 22 in Room 342 Dirksen Building.
Jack Lew has been Deputy Director for the Office of Management and Budget since 1995. Previously he was Executive Associate Director and Associate Director for Legislative Affairs in the Office of Management and Budget (1994-95), Special Assistant to the President (1993-94), Executive Director for the Center for Middle East Research (1992-93), and Partner with the firm Van Ness, Feldman & Curtis (1987-9 1). He holds a B.A. degree from Harvard College and a J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
