A new report by the Army Inspector General, which was required under legislation introduced by Chairman McCaskill, finds continued improvements in management, oversight, and accountability at the Cemetery. The Inspector General noted continuing deficiencies in contract management and oversight by the Army Contracting Command and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Inspector General also found that the contracting support provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Norfolk District is “high risk” due to the failure to comply with federal law and regulations.
