WASHINGTON – Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., issued the following statement in reaction to the announcement that National Counterterrorism Center Director Michael Leiter will leave his post in July.
“Mike Leiter has demonstrated his commitment to the security of our country time and again during his four years directing the National Counterterrorism Center and during years of public service before that. His tenure at the NCTC spanned a period of dynamic change in the terrorist threat to the nation and he carried out his duties with honor and skill. I am sorry to see him go but wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
