Washington – Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) made these comments Thursday after learning of the resignation of Department of Commerce Inspector General Todd J. Zinser:
“In testimony Wednesday, our committee heard allegations of misconduct against Inspector General Zinser. Last night, Mr. Zinser announced his retirement. I respect his decision. In light of testimony yesterday about the president’s failure to fill critical IG positions in several federal agencies, I call on the president to promptly nominate a permanent replacement as inspector general at the Department of Commerce and to fill the other four presidentially appointed inspector general vacancies.”
