WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released the following statement after the Finance Committee announced it would hold a hearing on the Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson health care bill.
“I appreciate the Senate Finance Committee’s willingness to hold a hearing on this important health care reform bill. As I said last week, my committee would hold a hearing if a committee of legislative jurisdiction did not. Therefore, I am canceling my committee’s hearing and look forward to the Senate Finance Committee’s proceedings. Oversight of the government’s role in America’s health care system will continue to remain a priority in my committee.”
Johnson made remarks (51:55) at a press conference last week regarding holding a hearing for this important health care bill. Click here to see the press conference.
