WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, had this to say following President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Gen. John Kelly to be secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
“General Kelly is an outstanding choice to be the next Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security,” said Johnson. “His military background, especially as commander of Southern Command, makes him ideally suited to address the security challenges facing America today. I look forward to working closely with General Kelly to expedite his confirmation and help make America safer and more secure.”
