WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, had this to say following President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Representative Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) to be director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), a position responsible for managing the president’s priorities across the entire federal government, writing the president’s budget, and reviewing all significant new regulations.
“Congressman Mulvaney is an excellent choice to bring responsible leadership to the Office of Management and Budget,” said Johnson. “It will take persistent leadership to reverse course on our dangerous debt and deficit and put a stop to regulatory overreach. I look forward to working with Representative Mulvaney as he undertakes the enormous task of managing the massive federal bureaucracy and balancing the budget.”
