WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, had this to say following an executive order from President Trump Tuesday that would strengthen cybersecurity, require agencies to eliminate unnecessary IT management functions, and increase use of private sector best practices.
“Today’s executive order shows that the Trump Administration is serious about fixing the federal government’s broken IT infrastructure. The private sector manages to continuously modernize technology and drive innovation, but the federal government is decades behind. This executive order will push the federal government closer to a private sector model in order to address these problems and better protect our IT systems.”
