Washington, DC – Following the announcement today that Asa Hutchinson is resigning from his position as the Undersecretary for Border and Transportation Security at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Senator Susan Collins released the following statement. Senator Collins is the Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which oversees DHS.
“Asa is a loyal public servant and has done much good for the country while serving at DHS, the DEA, and in Congress. I have enjoyed working closely with him and always valued his counsel. I wish him well in his future endeavors and hope that he continues in some capacity to perform the kind of civic service that he loves and does so well for the American people.”
